Hi asrar,
Could you post full error message what you get?
cannot install latest chrome release on RHEL6.4.
Any suggestions?
google-chrome-stable-28.0.1500.45-205727.x86_64 requires libstdc++.so.6(GLIBCXX_3.4.15)(64bit) : Success – empty transaction
Hi ths,
Unfortunately latest Google Chrome update break CentOS/RHEL 6.4 compatibility. I’m just looking easiest workaround to this. One possible way is build newer gcc manually, but let’s see what I find out.
Hi, I would be nice if there is a easy workaround…
Hi, JR… any news?
@All Enterprise Linux 6 users (Humberto, George, ths…)
I tested few another things to get Google Chrome installed on CentOS / RHEL 6, but really sad news is that: Google Says Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 Is Obsolete. So finally I end up write new guide, howto install Chromium on CentOS 6 / RHEL 6, because soon Google Chrome might need something other dependency packages and finally this breaks CentOS 6 / RHEL 6 stability.
So looks like EL 6 users have to stick with Chromium until CentOS 7 / RHEL 7 is released.
Check Install Chromium on CentOS 6 / Red Hat (RHEL) 6.
And please let me/us know what you think about Google decision to “say good bye” EL 6 Google Chrome users?
Do you have any option to install chrome new version(at least more than 17) in CentOS 5.8. ?

Hi smilyface,
No I haven’t unfortunately. It’s sad, but newer Chrome versions supports only distributions with latest packages.
You can change the gpgcheck=0

I do not have google-chrome.repo file in my Fedora 20 server. Can I just install Chrome browser using YUM install chrome ?
Hi amir,
First two questions, because I’m not totally sure what you want to do…
1. Are you sure, that you want install any browser on server?
2. If you really want/need it, why you don’t just add google-chrome.repo and install google-chrome?
thanks, I was able to install google-chrome on the Fedora 20 server. it works!!!
now back to troubleshooting MySQL on my F20.
can u upload guides- howto- for MySQL on Fedora? please.
Hi amir,
Nice to hear that you got it installed.
I think you should install MariaDB instead MySQL. You can check my guide howto install MariaDB on Fedora.
Is anyone else experience a complete chrome stable freeze one Feodra 19?
Just in the last couple of weeks Chrome has gone from working flawlessly to becoming completely unresponsive. I have to force quit it.
Thanks
muchas gracias me sirvio :)
while placing repo file it cant be pasted in that folder

Hi Jorge,
You are installing 64-bit Google Chrome on 32-bit Fedora, that’s why all dependencies fail. So just select Google Chrome 32-bit version/repo and try to install it again.
Hi,
I tried installing the google chrome but getting the below error.
~]# yum install google-chrome-stable
Loaded plugins: langpacks, product-id, subscription-manager
Server error attempting a GET to /subscription/ returned status 502
