Install Apache OpenOffice 4.1.2 on Fedora 24/23/22/21, CentOS/Red Hat...
JR, TY for all the work! How would this be different if A OOo had been downloaded from the site to a jump drive since system being updated is standalone, NOT connected to I-net or any other boxes.
As root; I have copied files from USB drive to my Desktop, ran tar – XX [My 1st tarball ext as I recall] XX
Saw what appeared to be many files being extracted, then

Hi Douglas,
This should work normally with or without net, if you have tarball downloaded. Do you got it working?
Hi, why blocking URE packages?
OpenOffice does not seem to run on Fedora 24 64 bit: I’m getting a Signal 6 error.
In fedora 24 openoffice wont start with an error
[/opt/openoffice4/program/soffice: line 121: 7015 Segmentation fault (core dumped) “$sd_prog/$sd_binary” “[email protected]”]
what could be the reason for this?
I did all this with OO 4.1.3 and all was fine till I tried to run it. Then it just says “openoffice4: command not found…”
Any advice?
Thank you for all kinds of help with this site.
Now it is time to go the version 4.1.5
Thanks if-not-true-then-false.com
You saved my time
Many thanks, complete documentation / Centos 7
very helpful .it works straight away ..thanks
Seeking to have Apache OpenOffice added to my computer
Excellent instructions! Followed them to the letter – and nice, sound installation. Then I run ‘openoffice4’ (or soffice) and it core dumps. And .. what’s more interesting – it can’t be fixed. Might be that AOO 4.1.7 is not up with current tech .. AMD Ryzen and such – but it will not work no matter what I try. But the install you lay out is very clean – thanks!
