Fedora 18 “Spherical Cow” Install Guide - Comment Page: 1
This is guide with screenshots, howto install Fedora 18 "Spherical Cow" (F18) using Live CD or Live USB. Fedora 18 "Spherical Cow" Installation can be done also with using Fedora NetInstall (Net Install) with gPXE and BFO (boot.fedoraproject.org). Fedora 18 have new version of Anaconda, which looks very promising.
1. Before Fedora 18 "Spherical Cow" Installation
1.1 Download Fedora 18 LiveCD Image
Download Fedora 18 here.
Select your favorite Live CD (Gnome, KDE, LXDE, XFCE) and architecture i686 or x86_64. On this guide I use Fedora 18 Gnome Live CD and 64-bit version.

Hi, I install fedora 8 with LENOVO Thinkcenter Edge core i5/32bit but I was not able to install its NIC.
NIC: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller (rev 06).
I tried to reinstall the NIC Driver using r8168-8.035.00 still not successful with error message
check old driver and unload it.
build the module and install.
make: *** /lib/modules/3.3.4-5.fc17.i686/build: No such file or directory. Stop
make[1]: *** [clean] Error 2
make: *** [clean] Error 2
actually I tried it with fedora 17 i got same problem. although i installed fedora 17/18 on several computers and its great. except for my new PC (lenovo thinkcenter 15)

Build the module and install

current OS: Fedora 17, earlier I just install Fedora 18 on same machine and got the same error message above.

Something strange on your kernel packages, you are running kernel what you have not even installed. I think that you need also kernel-devel and kernel-headers packages installed, so try following:
Then reboot using latest kernel and try installation again.
I got hold to a cd having fedora 18 in running window 8 pro on the harddrive used unetoot to get a virtual desktop I also have partition on my disk but unetboot in is showing it up nor it is able to complete the installation on usb drive, however if i choose c drive it get loaded, but again while booting from the unetboot screen I get the following error please help how to get around it

brother i am finding difficulty in selecting the free partition for fedora os installation ,,…though i have windows 7 installed ,,..and i want fedora as my optional os to work on unix commands,,…pls help me
Hi vinay,
You should shrink your Windows partitions if you have not any free disk space or alternatively try install Fedora 18 on VirtualBox.
i am getting error after completing 100% wen loding boot files…pls help me
