This is guide, howto install NVIDIA proprietary drivers (manually using .run installer) on Fedora 37/36/35/34/33/32 and disable Nouveau driver. This guide works with GeForce 8/9/200/300/400/500/600/700/800/900/10/20/30/40 series cards.
GeForce RTX 40 series cards works with 530.xx, 525.xx, 520.xx NVIDIA drivers, (RTX 4090)
GeForce RTX 30 series cards works with 530.xx, 525.xx, 520.xx, 515.xx, 510.xx and 470.xx NVIDIA drivers, (RTX 3090, RTX 3080 and RTX 3070, RTX 3060, RTX 3060 Ti)
GeForce RTX 20 series cards works with 530.xx, 525.xx, 520.xx, 515.xx, 510.xx and 470.xx NVIDIA drivers (RTX 2080 Ti, RTX 2080, RTX 2070 Ti, RTX 2070, RTX 2060)

P.S.
If you are using laptop connected to monitor, before you go to system LVL 3, it is smart to turn off monitor and just use laptop built-in display. I got a bit confused during this part, but once I turned off the monitor, restarted the laptop and used only a built-in display everything worked perfectly.

Whenever I try booting right now I get two errors for a Nvidia kernel module missing and then it stops at Failed to start Light Display Manager [Nvidia Geforce 560ti, driver version 390.138]

Do you have secure boot enabled on BIOS/UEFI? Did you have problems when you run NVIDIA installer?

I cannot see none of the plymouth theme.
Before the login screen I only see tree square, initially gray, and after the became all orange.

Thanks for the guide, rpmfusion drivers broke my system :D Playing videos in Firefox slowed down the whole system with alot of framedrops and choppy playback. Removed them, installed nvidia driver following your guide, rebooted, smooth as f*ck :)

Just for information purposes, the nvidia driver 390.141 released on Thursday the 7th seems to work just fine without patching on 5.9 kernels

I missed this release totally. Works with kernel 5.10.4 too without patching! I update this guide and remove 390xx from NVIDIA patcher script (until 390.141 works)!

I tried with gt 530 and the 390. It didnt work at first. Something about a make config.
I did make oldconfig in the kernel source folder and it worked after that.

Thank you very much for this. I had fedora version 5.8.18-300.fc33.x86_64 with the Nvidia version 340.108 for the GT215M [GeForce GTS 360M]. This is working!
When I updated Fedora to the versions 5.9.10 and 5.9.11, I could not boot Linux anymore. Luckily I had kept version 5.8.18 so I could still work on my laptop, but now I can use version 5.9.11

I have a fresh Fedora Workstation 33 install I just did on my laptop. It has a GeForce RTX 2060 Mobile card.

I followed the guide, installing the 460 driver. After switching back to Runlevel 5 and rebooting, Fedora won’t start. I see the boot screen with the spinner, but I never get a graphical login screen. The spinner just stops spinning and disappears, but it still just displays the booting screen. I’m able to boot into graphical mode in the kernel which was installed when I installed Fedora, but not in the most recent kernel which was placed on the system when I ran “dnf upgrade” after installing Fedora.

Do you mean that you have fully working desktop with NVIDIA drivers when you use older kernel?
You can always boot again to runlevel 3 using newest kernel and reinstall 460 drivers. Do you get any errors when you run installer?
Real problem might be your laptop panel + NVIDIA Optimus technology. Check this for more info: http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86_64/460.32.03/README/optimus.html
NVIDIA Drivers installs and works, but you can’t use your laptop panel. One possible solution is check BIOS/UEFI and try to disable integrated graphics or disable NVIDIA Optimus technology.

Yes you can use dnf update without probelems. DKMS should rebuild your NVIDIA kernel modules when you update kernel.
