Hi Tom,

It’s not a patch file, it’s a full nVidia installer with a needed patch(s).

So just follow the guide and use NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-340.101-patched.run instead of nVidia original installer.

Is it just me or do you have to reinstall the driver every single time there is a kernel update? If I don’t do that I’ll get weird fps drops.

So I’m trying to install this in Fedora 22 and I got to the point where I could reboot into run level three, but instead of jumping into root I got the dracut prompt. I then get two warnings:

dracut initqueue warning not all disks have been found
dracut warning you might want to regenerate your initramfs
After that if I try to exit from dracut then the system just hangs. and i boot using LiveCD/LiveUSB and chroot to system and reinstall grup 2

JR,

I seem to be having some trouble with my newer OS and/or your guide. I had a PNY GeForce GT 730 installed and working on Fedora 25. I later found out I bought a lower power card and exchanged it for a MSI GeForce GT 730 with better specs. I’m now working on reinstalling my OS on a new SSD. However, upon completing step 2.7 my machine will not display anything. It reboots, shows my Intel motherboard screen, shows the grub screen and after selecting Kernel 4.9.9 (the latest), the display goes blank and stays that way. Has anyone else run into this? I’m fairly new to Fedora, so please bear with me.

Hi TheKnack,

First it is good to check that you have all settings right. Now when you have clean system it might be easiest to reinstall whole system again and try to install nVidia drivers again. This should work normally with kernel 4.9.9 and with kernel 4.9.10.
