This is guide, howto install NVIDIA proprietary drivers (manually using .run installer) on Fedora 37/36/35/34/33/32 and disable Nouveau driver. This guide works with GeForce 8/9/200/300/400/500/600/700/800/900/10/20/30/40 series cards.
GeForce RTX 40 series cards works with 530.xx, 525.xx, 520.xx NVIDIA drivers, (RTX 4090)
GeForce RTX 30 series cards works with 530.xx, 525.xx, 520.xx, 515.xx, 510.xx and 470.xx NVIDIA drivers, (RTX 3090, RTX 3080 and RTX 3070, RTX 3060, RTX 3060 Ti)
GeForce RTX 20 series cards works with 530.xx, 525.xx, 520.xx, 515.xx, 510.xx and 470.xx NVIDIA drivers (RTX 2080 Ti, RTX 2080, RTX 2070 Ti, RTX 2070, RTX 2060)

I can confirm that after the latest update to the plymouth bootsplash, removing the boot option ‘rhgb quiet’ from /etc/default/grub is *not* necessary anymore.

Trying to install Nvidia beta driver 415 on Fedora 29 with kernel 4.19 with secure boot of but I still get Unable to load the ‘nvidia-drm’ kernel module error. What should I do? I have a mobile 1060 6GB GDDR5

I just tested 410.78 and 415.13 with kernel 4.19 and both works normally for me. Are you sure that the secure boot is really disabled?
Then could you post output of following command:

Unfortunately you have nVidia Optimus device, nVidia support for Optimus devices on Linux is limited and you can only do offscreen rendering and run CUDA apps, but can’t drive a display. More info from http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86_64/410.78/README/optimus.html
Sometimes it’s possible to disable nVidia Optimus from UEFI/BIOS and then you can install and use nvidia proprietary drivers normally.
I can not turn of the integrated intel graphics chip in my laptop BIOS. Would this guide work to use the Nvidia card to render games while the images are served by the Intel graphics chip and regular performance? Guide http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86_64/410.78/README/randr14.html

I actually don’t know is this working. I assume not, because I haven’t hear this style setup, but I’m not sure.
One thing to try is https://bumblebee-project.org/ but I have heard that performance is not so good.
Just upgraded from 4.18.18-300.fc29.x86_64 to 4.19.2-300.fc29.x86_64, and the driver 390.87 did not load and the boot halted. Had to back to 4.18.18.

You are right, nvidia 390.87 drivers won’t work with kernel 4.19. You can now download patched installer using following command:
I just patched it and tested it, please let me know if you have any problems.
I rebooted into 4.19 and installed the patched version. It worked! Thanks so much!
Worked for me after a upgrading fedora to 29 but I had to reinstall the driver and then do a sudo dnf reinstall “xorg-*”

My last comment somehow did not get posted, so here goes nothing again…
Upgraded kernel to 4.19.2-200.fc28.x86_64, and boot hung at “Starting Switch Root.” I also tried installing versions 390.87-patched and 415.18, both of which had the same issue. Uninstalling the nVidia drivers solved the issue.
Any thoughts?

Kernel 4.19.2 worked for me normally, but try to update kernel 4.19.3 and try installation again? It should work too.
Hi, I have tried your tutorial, but fedora won’t load normally anymore, what should I do please? I am stuck in black screen shell over whole screen. Using fedora 29, gtx 1070, I have done everything correctly expect I have disabled fast boot as least, because I thought I have already done it, could it make some big problem, thank you for your advice.
