    1. Hi,

Will this break what we have done based on your nVidia drivers install guide?

I went through a lot of steps to disable wayland, blacklist nouveau, change grub not to use gdm etc.

It was working fine until a borked dnf update trashed my system. And I’m running 4.17.7 kernel and X doesn’t start. I thought to try going to 28 now since my system is worthless now anyway.

But I don’t want to get into a boot loop or have a broken system after upgrading.

      Can you please explain?

      Thanks,

      Bill

      • Hi

I answered you on the other thread. This is pretty much official upgrade method, but as guide says, you should always backup before you upgrade. And you should always have backups + working restore method, if everything goes wrong or disk crash or something. I have tested this with several systems and I haven’t had any problems.
